Overview
Tiers let you rank your members into levels — a ladder like Basic → Silver → Gold — that members climb as they keep coming back. Each tier is shown as a crown badge on the member’s card, so your team can see at a glance who your best customers are.
This is part of the loyalty series. It builds on Digital Stamp, so it helps to have that set up first.
Note Tiers & Segments is a Full plan feature. On the Lite plan the page shows an upgrade prompt instead.
What a Tier Is (and Isn’t)
A tier is a status label — a name and a crown icon that mark how far a member has climbed. It is a recognition badge, not an automatic discount.

Note A tier by itself does not grant a member price, a point multiplier, or a voucher automatically. It’s the status; the rewards that move members up are delivered through your Digital Stamp setup.
How Members Climb Tiers
Members move up by earning digital stamps. In your Digital Stamp setup you add a reward of type Tier Upgrade at a chosen stamp milestone. When a member reaches that many stamps, they move up one level.
- Every member starts at the Basic tier (the first level).
- Each Tier Upgrade reward moves them up exactly one tier — they can’t skip levels.
- Members are moved to the new tier within 24 hours of qualifying.

Note You need at least two tiers for upgrades to happen. With only the Basic tier, there’s nowhere to climb to.
Validity Period: How Long a Tier Lasts
When you set up the ladder, you choose how long a member keeps a tier they’ve earned:
- Never Expires — once earned, the tier is kept for good.
- Set Valid Period — the tier lasts a set number of months (1–120; one month counts as 30 days). If the member doesn’t keep qualifying, they drop down one level when it expires.
Note The Basic tier never expires, even when you set a valid period — the valid period applies only to the higher tiers. Expired members are moved down automatically (checked daily), and can drop more than one level if they’ve been inactive long enough.
Setting Up Your Tiers
In the Loyalty app, open Members → Tiers and Segments. The page has three parts:
1. Group By
How members are grouped. This is set to Digital Stamp — members climb by earning stamps.
2. Validity Period
Choose Never Expires or Set Valid Period (and enter the number of months).
3. Tier Settings
Add your tiers from lowest to highest. For each tier you set:
- Tier Name — the first one is your Basic tier (e.g. “Member”); name the rest (e.g. Silver, Gold).
- Icon — pick a crown color to represent the tier.
You can create up to 10 tiers, ordered from Basic at the bottom to your highest level at the top. When you’re done, click Activate (or Discard to undo).
Caution Set your ladder up carefully before activating. Once the tier system is activated it’s locked and can’t be edited in the portal — plan your tier names, order, and validity period in advance.
Where Tiers Appear
A member’s tier shows as a crown icon and name on their member card and on the order summary at the POS, so cashiers can recognize higher-tier customers during a sale.

Best Practices
- Keep the ladder simple — 3 to 4 tiers is easy for staff and customers to understand.
- Set up Digital Stamp with a Tier Upgrade reward first, otherwise members have no way to climb.
- Use a valid period if you want to reward recent loyalty; use Never Expires if you want tiers to feel permanent.
- Double-check names, order, and validity before you Activate — the setup locks afterward.
What’s Next
Continue the loyalty series with:
- Points policy and the Points Marketplace (rewards).
- Vouchers and Digital Stamp.
