Configure Store Operating Hours and Delivery Availability
Define when your store is open for orders and when delivery services are available

Overview

The Operational Hours settings allow you to define when your store is open for business and when delivery services are available. These configurations help ensure that customers can only place orders during valid operating periods.

Setting accurate operational hours helps:

  • Prevent orders from being placed when the store is closed
  • Display accurate store availability to customers
  • Align menu visibility with actual business hours
  • Ensure delivery services operate only within defined time windows

This feature is especially important for businesses operating across multiple channels such as POS, QR ordering, and delivery platforms.

When to Use

Configure operational hours when:

  • Setting up a new store location
  • Defining daily opening and closing times
  • Managing stores with multiple service periods (e.g., lunch and dinner sessions)
  • Aligning online ordering availability with store hours
  • Configuring delivery availability windows

Setting Store Operating Hours

Accessing the Configuration

To configure store operating hours:

  1. Navigate to SettingsOperational Hours.
  2. At the top of the page, confirm that the correct Store is selected.
  3. By default, the system assumes the store operates 24 hours per day.
  4. To customize operating hours, click the Edit (pencil) icon on the right side.

Configuring Weekly Operating Hours

Within the Set Store Operating Hours section:

  1. Configure operating hours for each day of the week (Monday–Sunday).
  2. For each day, specify:
    • Start Time
    • End Time

If your store operates in multiple sessions per day (for example, lunch and dinner):

  • Click Add Hours under that day.
  • Define additional operating periods.

Example:

  • Monday
    • 11:00–15:00
    • 17:00–22:00

How Store Operating Hours Affect Ordering

If store operating hours are enabled and a customer accesses the IDEFOOD QR ordering page outside of those hours:

  • The system will display a “Store Closed” message.
  • The message will include the store’s operating hours.

In this situation:

  • Menu items will not be displayed.
  • Customers will first see the store closure notice before any menu content loads.

This prevents customers from attempting to place orders when the store is closed.

Setting Delivery Hours

Configuring Delivery Availability

To configure delivery hours:

  1. Click the Edit (pencil) icon in the Operational Hours page.
  2. Navigate to the Set Delivery Hours section.
  3. Configure delivery availability for each day of the week.

For each day, define:

  • Start Time
  • End Time

If multiple delivery windows are required:

  • Click Add Hours under that day to create additional time slots.

Example:

  • Friday
    • 11:00–14:00
    • 17:00–21:00

How Delivery Hours Affect Ordering

Delivery hour behavior depends on the integration used.

GrabFood Integration

If the merchant is connected to GrabFood:

  • Delivery hours are managed directly within the Grab Merchant App.
  • However, menu availability settings configured in this portal may still synchronize with GrabFood. (not delivery hours)

Merchants should ensure that both systems are aligned to avoid conflicts.

Lalamove Integration

The Set Delivery Hours configuration in this system currently applies primarily to Lalamove integration.

If Lalamove is connected:

  • Menu availability for delivery will follow the configured delivery hours.
  • Customers will only see delivery menu options during the configured time periods.

Outside those hours:

  • Delivery menus will not be visible.

Important Note

The system currently does not validate whether a Lalamove integration is active.

This means:

  • Merchants can configure delivery hours at any time.
  • However, these settings only take effect if the Lalamove integration is enabled.

Setting Off-Day Dates

The Off Day Date feature allows you to specify temporary closures, such as:

  • Public holidays
  • Store maintenance days
  • Special closures
  • Seasonal breaks

How to Configure

  1. Navigate to the Set Off Day Date section.
  2. Select a date range during which the store will be closed.
  3. Save the configuration.

During these dates:

  • The store will be treated as closed.
  • Customers will not be able to place orders.

Limitations & Considerations

  • Operating hours apply at the store level.
  • Delivery hours may behave differently depending on the delivery integration used.
  • Menu scheduling and store operational hours work together; both must be valid for orders to be accepted.
  • Off-day settings override normal operating hours.
  • External delivery platforms may have their own availability rules.

Best Practices

  • Align store operating hours with staff availability and kitchen operations.
  • Clearly separate store hours and delivery hours if they differ.
  • Use multiple time slots for lunch/dinner service periods.
  • Always verify delivery platform settings to ensure synchronization.
  • Set Off Day dates in advance for holidays to avoid unexpected orders.
